Welcome to my practice, where your path to resilience and well-being continues.
As someone who is passionate about working with young professionals, parents, and students struggling with anxiety and perfectionism, I focus on providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgement therapeutic environment. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are experiencing life transitions, navigating relationships, and exploring their identities. As an Indian therapist, I particularly enjoy working with other Indians as well as clients who identify as first and second generation on issues related to cultural identity, acculturation, and family of origin issues. My approach to therapy is collaborative and fosters a positive environment for your ongoing journey of building self-awareness and resiliency.
My professional background includes working in multiple clinical settings including private practices, hospitals and outpatients programs, and non-profit agencies. By incorporating cognitive-behavioral, compassion-focused, mindfulness focused, and existential models of therapy, I am mindful about making sure my approach in therapy fit your needs and therapeutic goals. For couples therapy, I incorporate the Gottman Method to help couples learn how to strengthen their relationship by improving communication and friendship and learning how to navigate conflict. My practice also provides a safe space for clients from different cultural backgrounds.
At Helia Therapy, I offer individual and couples counseling in both in-person and virtual environments, making therapy accessible and convenient for you. I also offer therapy in both English and Hindi, ensuring a comfortable and relatable experience for first and second generation South Asian clients. Located in Atlanta, I often work with clients from many areas within the Greater Atlanta neighborhoods including Decatur, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Inman Park, and surrounding areas.
I earned my M.S. in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. in Psychology, English, & Classical Studies from Emory University. I am currently licensed in the state of Georgia as an Licensed Professional Counselor.
I invite you to take the next step towards your mental health journey and schedule an initial consultation with me at Helia Therapy. Your mental health journey is important and I would honor your goals to navigate life's challenges in a space that is safe and supportive.
